Jesse: I took the first workshop with cliff at martini studios many years ago. Ive been working as a A/B first AC camera focus puller on music videos and MOW. I came to the feb 2023 workshop and got to learn some skills on operating one of the latest steadicam. Also, I got to meet the owner of kingsway films that sell steadicam equipment. Taylor: I works in the grip, camera, and light department in seattle. However I never had a chance to operate professional steadicam and gimbals. This weekend workshop was amazing, and showed me that operating professional camera stabilizers was not as had as I thought and im excited to apply the knowledge I learned to my film production. |

Alice: I was working as an editor in the video production industry. I attended the workshop in Jan 2023 and I learn valuable skill in focus pulling and being a 1st and 2nd AC. With my new skills from the workshop, i had the opportunity to work with Cliff and his team and I was introduced to many film makers. It was my dream to work in the camera department and my dream came true.

Dallas: Working in the film business for over 15 years as a best boy in the lighting department, I find myself wanting to learn more about working of the camera department. The workshop was a great experience because it allowed me to operate the professional film camera (hand held Steadicam and gimbals) which gives me the ultimate respect to the camera department for their skill levels.

Janos: As working most of my life in the EPK for factual camera operator, it was a pleasure to be trained by Cliff and his team with professional Steadicam and gimbals which has helped me with my operating skills with my smaller Steadicam device. It also was a blast shooting a music video for real artist.
Niles: I always wanted to work in the film business. Duruing my last year of high school (grade 12) i took the weekend workshop in Feburary 2023. By learning fantastic film operating skills, it assured me that my future is to work in the film business.
Gregor: I signed up for the SteadyCam workshop with the music video component. Cliff was a blast to work with. He’s a good teacher - fun, funny, patient. I feel like I gained a lot of confidence with a SteadyCam and even learned some tricks on how to make a DIY one. His assistants were super helpful and I could tell that they genuinely admired Cliff (One of his AC’s was dropping industry secrets about how to not get fired from set which I thought was pretty cool) I would recommend this to anyone who wants to level up their Cam Op or AC skills as the class not only gives you hands on experience with cinema cameras but also significant time practicing your focus pulling skills. Turned out to be a wonderful networking opportunity too as one of the attendees was a Sound Mixer that I now work with frequently in Seattle. |
